TOY STORY LAND AT WALT DISNEY WORLD & THE CHANGES TO PARADISE PIER IN CALIFORNIA

March 7, 2018 By: Jennifer

Take me to the LAND OF THE TOYS, please!

I can hardly believe it’s been over 20 YEARS since the first Toy Story movie was released! Yes friends, that means I would’ve been about 12 years old at that time, yikes! At the time the first movie came out, I felt “too cool” for animated films. When I finally DID watch it however… I was hooked!

That’s the thing about Disney/Pixar movies. They really do a wonderful job at creating animated films that embrace everyone AND stand the test of time. Young, old, male, female…”too cool tweens”…everyone LOVES Toy Story!

I can NOT wait to see the greatly anticipated Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World’s Orlando resort! According the Disney Parks blog, it’s set to open on June 30, 2018.In a press release by Disney, the 11-acre addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios park will “transport guests into the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard.” The imagineers at Disney literally want to make you feel as if you’ve shrunken down to the size of a toy.

They are planning a  new family-friendly roller coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, a swirling flying saucer ride, Woody’s Lunch Box restaurant and many more themed attractions.

My “home park” (aka) the Disneyland Resort in California will also debut a new land on June 23, 2018. It’s going to be called Pixar Pier, and it will replace the existing Paradise Pier.  They are planning a new ride, the Incredicoaster, which is themed to the upcoming sequel to the original Incredibles movie, premiering June 15.

I’m beyond excited to see the changes coming to BOTH Disney World and Disneyland! My family and I were actually lucky enough to be at Disney California Adventure on the last operating day for the roller-coaster Screamin’, which is set to become the Incredicoaster. Since we were there on the last day I was able to get my oldest two kids, then 8 and 6 to ride it. It was their first roller coaster ride and also their last because n+ext time it will be the Incredicoaster!
